We are pleased to offer government-funded childcare for eligible families, helping to make early years education more accessible for children aged 9 months to 4 years. Below, we explain the different funding options available and how you can apply.
Funding Available
15/30Hours Funding for 9 Months to 3Year- will Receive 15 hours of childcare support per week, beginning the term after their child turns nine months old for eligible families. N.B - From September 2025, the funding will increase to 30 hours per week for eligible working parents of children aged nine months to school age. Beginning the term after their child child turns nine months old. This means: All 3- and 4-year-olds are entitled to 15 hours of childcare per week during term time for everyone. • Working parents of 3- and 4-year-olds may be eligible for 30 hours of childcare per week.
How to Apply:
Parents can check their eligibility and apply via the Childcare Choices website. If eligible, you will receive a code that must be provided to the nursery before the funding can be applied. Childcare Choices https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/childcare
2. Play2Learn – 2-Year-Old Funding (Bexley Council): Some 2-year-olds may qualify for 15 hours of free childcare through the Play2Learn scheme, which is offered by Bexley Council. This funding is available for families who meet certain criteria, such as receiving specific benefits or having a child with additional needs.
How to Apply:
Parents can check their eligibility and apply directly through the Bexley Council website or speak to our team for guidance.
3. Tax free Childcare: Is a valuable resource available to approximately 2million households, offering financial assistance to childcare cost. To learn more about this scheme and other government support options visit childcare choices website.

Early Education for two-year-olds
Some two-year-olds in the borough can get 570 hours of free early education or childcare per year. It’s usually taken as 15 hours a week for 38 weeks of the year. However, can also be spread across 52 weeks of the year should you wish to do this.
Your two-year-old can get free early education and childcare if you live in England and either:
If you're getting benefits
·income support
·income-based jobseeker's allowance (not eligible if on contribution-based jobseeker’s allowance)
·income-related employment and support allowance (not eligible if on contribution-based employment support allowance)
·tax credits (with an annual income of under £16,190 before tax)
·support under part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act
·the guaranteed element of state pension credit
·universal credit – if you and your partner have a combined income from work of less than £15,400 a year after tax
·working tax credit four-week run-on (the payment you get when you stop qualifying for working tax credit).
The 15-hour universal free childcare is not dependant on your financial or employment circumstances; this is available to ALL 3-4-year-olds.
Children are eligible from the term following their 3rd birthday until they reach compulsory school age whether they take up the universal 15 hours or extended 30-hour entitlement.
